Friday Day1
We congregated at 10pm in the Still Room
for our introductory chat, protection, and preparations for the full walk round of the Castle. Because of my mobility
problems I decided to give this a miss and stayed behind with camera and dictaphone, just to see if I could catch anything
whilst the others were away. See below for the solo effort.

A wander over to the window showed Peter,
one of the caretakers walking across the courtyard, and me, being a nosey sort wondered where he was going and went to find
out. Just as I reached the bottom step I heard the distinctive clip, clop, of horses hooves. This is a phenomenon
that's been heard before, indeed when we attended a Valentine Day function the same thing was heard by a whole roomful of
people. In my eagerness to retrieve the dictaphone from my pocket, I dropped it, so didn't get a recording of it.
Also, if Peter had left a couple of minutes later, I would have had a witness!!
Bearings gathered, we split into two groups,
the first beginning in the Minstrel's Hall and the other at the opposite end and three storeys higher in the Edward the First
room.
The Minstrel's Hall is a large room that
is currently being used by the Castle as it's Tea Rom. We began by just sitting quietly for a few minutes, to see if
we could detect any variations in the atmosphere that would indicate that spirit was present. After a few minutes
the temperature in various parts of the room began to drop. People were indicating that orbs were being caught on camera
so I wandered into the middle of the room and asked the spirits to show themselves as a light. Almost immediately a
light anomaly appeared on the wall behind me, caught on video. Then I asked the people present to come and feel the
air in front of me. A warm column of air had manifested itself, running from the floor upwards. It made a pleasant
change from the usual cold spot!
While this was happening a strange thing
was caught on video. Nor, a lady from Life and Spirit, was sat in front of the fireplace as a photograph was taken.
As we watched on video something strange seemed to be going on with her shadow in that split second. It looks as though another
shadow has superimposed itself over the top. Our resident sceptic and technical man, David, has had a really good
look and has conceded that it looks dodgy, (technical term!). There are some aspects of it that we can't explain, but
the quality isn't brilliant, (we have put it below). However, looking at other photos that were taken around the same
place, we came up with these others. Notice how the one orb on the chair seems to go through from front to back, though
the gap.

A review of the video footage also seems
to have come up with another anomaly. We have a recording of what we can only describe as a cannon being fired.
I have asked everyone who was there if they remember hearing this huge bang and no one does.
Whilst videoing from the Minstrel's Gallery
Chris was convinced he saw a dark shadow moving behind David, whilst both were convinced that the temperature had fallen dramatically.
This was the same place where Angela had been shoved in the back. Alison, was also sensing a youth in the same place,
and the area has proved to give a plethora of orbs.

By far the most responsive room of the
whole weekend, turned out to be the chapel. We knew that it had been the place where a young girl, Eleanor, had
died after being abused by her captors, and both on the first and second night she proved to be very obliging.
We asked if she could help us by showing
herself as a light so we knew where she was. Two lights appeared and floated over David's and Tom's head, emanating
from the corner where she has been seen. As a cold blast of air was sensed by everyone, another light emanated from
the wall and travelled up the curtain to the left of David, who was seated in the corner. The temperature in the room
was reading 3.9, but in that corner it was showing 1.9. In the space of a couple of minutes we received six lights in
response to our questions, both towards me and Sanna, and also noises behind Angela, and the shifting of one of the benches
to the left of the aisle.
The cold had finally taken it's toll and
we considered this a good time to break for the night. We thought the night had come to an end when we retired to bed,
but that was not the case for two of our investigators. Andrew, continually had the bed covers pulled from him, until
eventually he decided that a few words with whatever was doing this, was in order. That did seem to do the trick.
Chris was being poked and prodded
through his pillow into the side of his face and head, then on his leg. It was then that he tried to rouse David, failing
miserably. It is worth noting here, that this is the room where the bed had been mysteriously made while we were all
out shopping, on a previous visit.
Saturday Day 2
Night Two began around 10 o'clock after
the usual period of protecton. Unfortunately, at that time, I was battling against illness, and did not last very much
longer, but did manage a few minutes in the chapel.
A glass divination session was set up,
Lila, Angela, Leanne, Andrew and Johnny, taking part. It was not long before the group were in contact with Eleanor
again, although at first the glass was slow to react. She seems very fond of showing herself as a light and again, did
not disappoint us. One light anomaly crossed the table, another along the side wall.
As Lila began to talk to her, as you would
a child, the response was almost immediate. She didn't know her age, but she liked to talk to us. A light went
across Andrew. She said she was frightened of the grown-up spirits. Light across the screen. At this point
Angela became very emotonal and began to cry. Two lights crossed from Leanne to Angela. Thinking that perhaps
Angela was feeling the spirits emotions Lila asked, 'Do you feel better now?', only to be answered by two lights across Andrew.
When asked if she would like to talk to
anyone else around the table a faint light crossed Leanne. Then a cool breeze began over the table and Lila asked if
it would be possible for Eleanor to affect her in some way. This was followed by a brilliant light crossing the screen,
then Lila saying her nose was being tickled. The ensuing laughter seemed to do the trick because six lights appeared
at various places across the screen, moving in and around the circle. Another strong breeze came out of nowhere, followed
by another two lights on Angela and Leanne.
It was at this point that there was a
definite change in the movement of the glass, which had changed from a fluid motion to jumpy and erratic. Leanne was
convinced it was another spirit and was not happy at all, so she removed her finger. David swore he had felt movement
from the Great Hall, past him into the Chapel and after questioning, it was revealed that this spirit was from the Great Hall.
John Sage, the resident castle torturer,
had decided to make his presence felt, and sucessfully scared away Eleanor. While trying to establish if he had tried
to contact us the previous night, the table began pulsating, and this was followed by an awful smell. Then lights began,
three around David then a brilliant white one right across the screen.
Then something very strange happened.....
The team had left me with a walkie-talkie in case I needed their help. All other walkie-talkies were in that room where
the filming was taking place. Mine went off and you could hear me say on the tape 'has someone called me'.
But it was obvious from watching the tape that nobody had. Yet I had a male voice saying to me, 'Are you there?'.
It did not come through on any of the other walkie-talkies and it should have done as they were all on the same frequency....spooky!

Because
John Sage had seemed to emanate from the Great Hall, that was where the group decided to begin the next session, in the hope
of continuing the conversation. This was to prove successful. The glass responded immeadiately by spinning.
When asked if he had seen the light, he said he had and didn't wish to go into it and leave the place where he was.
He had taken his job as torturer very seriously and felt betrayed when he was put to death. He indicated that it was
possible for him to move the table, and then it began shuddering and rocking between Julie and Angela. When asked if
he had murdered his wife/girlfriend there was violent movement of the table, which indicated, yes, he had. He was killed
less than six months after her death. He declined to speak into the dictaphone, and didn't like anyone else speaking
to us either. He liked to be in control.
| Edward 1st Room |

|

The Edward 1st Room was another of those
rooms investigated in small groups. The first to visit were Chris and Dave, who were greeted by some very ominous banging
from the balcony area. Now although it was a windy night, this made an altogether different sound, more lke footsteps, and
never from the same place twice. All the time he was there, Chris was convinced he was being watched, and the temperature
became unbearably cold. It was only after studying the stills photos that we noticed an unexplained mist in the room,(see
below). Apart from a very loud bang that was heard by Julie and David on their way out, and a few orbs on other photos,
nothing of significance was reported by other members of the group.

| The Pink Room |

|
| Two blue light anomalies |
According to Sanna, the custodian, the
Pink Room had always seemed very calm and peaceful, and I must admit that everyone in the group concurred. The
short vigils were done in two and threes and nothing of any significance was reported. Even the one that was done at
twelve midnight seemed very quiet, then imagine our delight when we found this photo (above), showing two blue light
anomalies! The only thing found, was what may have been a small light on video tape.
It just goes to show that sometimes all
that is needed to lay a spirit to rest, is a decent burial!
This was our first attempt at donating
our services and I must admit it turned out to be a very worthwhile experience. We met some lovely people and I hope
they had a rewarding and satisfying weekend. Many thanks to Sir Humphry, Sanna and Peter for their continued support.
