| Tatton Old Hall |

|
An investigation took place here on Saturday, 25th October,
2008. Present were the team and eight other guests.
Tatton Park, Cheshire, is host to the Old Hall, set some distance away
from both the entrance and the current hall. It was once the heart of the estate and stands nearby where Tatton village
used to be.
It was built at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, and the single
story Great Hall still reflects it's Tudor roots. The cross-wing shows the 350 year ownership of the Edgerton family
and their wealth. Later, it was turned into cottages for the estate workers.
It is now a museum, with rooms furnished in different periods, and
is fully accessible from one area to another.
Unfortunately, the night of our visit must have been one of the wettest
of the year and staying dry proved not to be an option! Also, I must mention the extreme cold that was to be found everywhere
in the Hall. It certainly did not reflect the temperature outside which read 9 degree celsius, and at several times
during the evening people were standing outside in the rain to get warm!!
After our initial protection and energy gathering session in the Visitor
Centre hub we proceeded to the Great Hall, where we decided on a large seance. We were made aware of a presence by a
faint light showing on video camera, then a man by the name of Samuel Bainbridge introduced himself. He was a Dickensian
looking character, but at the time was not forthcoming with any other information. We did, however, have lights
on video, (see clips below), and both Andrea and Lila smelled dung! Lila also complained of feeling paralysis to the
eye/cheek area, Angela spoke of having her hair pulled, and David had trouble swallowing.

| The living room |

|
We now split into smaller groups to cover the rest of the
rooms. I will give the information per room, for the sake of brevity.
Ground floor - 50/60's Living Room.
This room was particularly interesting to me, as it reflected the room
I lived in as a child! However, the initial presence was one of a man from a much earlier time who presented himself
at a writing desk, over by the window, writing with a quill. In this place now there is a record player, and we did
get two faint lights on camera, in this area and the link is below. Angela was aware of his presence too, describing
him as wearing a waistcoat, complete with watch and chain, and during the description she felt a breeze blowing directly
into her face. There then came a drain on the camera batteries and the door from the Great Hall began to rattle as though
someone was trying to gain entry. The other group at this time were at the other end of the house.
The atmosphere in the room then changed. The temperature dropped
dramatically, Angela felt as though she was being pushed back into the chair and David felt a cold blast on his neck and the
sound of a breath was heard very close to the camera. One man had been replaced by another stronger energy, who, by
the end of the evening we were calling, 'The Protector'. It would seem whatever information either group were gathering
from the spirits present, it would stop immeadiately this one turned up. It was almost as though there were secrets
about the house that were not allowed to be divulged, and he appeared at various places and several times throughout
the night. Another trait associated with this spirit was one of distraction. There would always be movement or
noise in the next room, wherever you were in the house.
The next group had the same experience of distraction, but did get
a few faint lights showing on camera, and a noise from the doorway leading into the hall. This prompted them to move
next door...

Dining Room
At the begining of filming a small light was caught coming along the
corridor wall towards the dining room, and certainly spirit presence would seem to have arrived, given the flurry of activity
from that point on.
Andrea was describing a man in his 40's wearing 1930's clothes, (see
two boxes below).
It was decided to do a session of table tilting to see
if some more information could be gathered about this man. Straight away there was noise down the corridor, and one
of our visitors swore he saw a little white cat. To our knowledge there is no cat in the house. A breeze began
to blow across the table, followed by a small light across the same man's shoulder. As the table began to tilt in reponse
to our questions, the following information was gleaned. The spirit was a man named Philip Burgess, ( a joint effort
from Lila and Andrea!), who had served in the RAF during WW2, and was a friend of one of the male occupants of the house,
and was a frequent visitor. He was a member of the famous 'Dambusters' squadron, but he died in an accident rather than
in war, (Lila thought it had something to do with a fire, and indeed the plane was hit by flak and ended up hitting power
cables), and his records CAN be found at www.thedambusters.org.uk/aj-e.html. It was while discussing air bases and Liverpool docks, that the follwing two lights were caught on tape, link below.
Clip 5
Asked if Liverpool docks had any significance the was another
light, see clip below, and also if there was a Scottish connection, another faint light. I must mention here, that all
the way through this session the table tipped continually in answer to the questions. The session was completed to the
sound of music, heard by Paul and Craig, the source of which could not be found.
Clip 6
The next group visiting the dining room were aware of lound
clicks and a shuffling sound during the protection. It was then that Angela was pushed very hard in the back and her
movement can be seen quite clearly on tape. A moment later we had a light going down the wall to the plate, after asking
for a sign of the presence. Then as we spoke of the energy in the room, another light appeared behind my head, see two
clips below. This was accompanied by a noise, which we asked to be repeated and it was, followed by a very strong smell
of excrement!
The lady present gave her name as Margaret and explained that she had
once been a cook at the house. Ian was particularly affected at this point, feeling cobwebs on his face and we asked
for a light if this was being caused by spirit. The reply wa a faint light across his head. The 'Protector' then
put in an appearance and her energy faded.

| Small bedroom, ground floor |

|
The ground floor bedroom seemed to contain the same characters
again, as the group containing Lila picked up a 19th century lady called Margaret, (we had not at this point spoken to each
other!), and she did produce a light. See clip below. The table tilted on yes as she explained she could also
be found in the Great Hall and that she had a particular reason for wishing to speak. Then she left, as the room became
extremely cold.
It was still bitterly cold when we arrived a short while later, and
there present was 'The Protector', and there was an immeadiate drain on the stills batteries.
We decided on a glass divination session to see if we could get more
information about this man, and there was a surge in energy before the glass moved. It was at this stage on the tape
we heard the cry of a woman (at the end of the clip), which was strange, as nobody heard it at the time. Click
on box below.
Clip 9
The man did not want to communicate, and after the initial
movement disappeared, leaving behind a cold breeze across the table, only to be replaced by another female, perhaps the one
who's cry we had not heard. We swapped to table tilting, although she was a weak energy. Her name may have been
Mary Ellen, but she seemed very far away and was difficult to hear.
As Andrew moved in to take over the table a light appeared across his
back. See clip below. There was no further information from the lady, but just before we left there was the noise
of someone trying the door, but when we opened it there was nobody there.
