Because of the unusual amount of material gathered during this investigation, we have decided to spread the report over two pages to aid speed of loading.

The Skirrid Mountain Inn is reputed to be the oldest public house in Wales, who's history can be traced back to the Norman Conquest.  It is a fine old building with many original features including oak panelling in the restaurant, and beams throughout.
In the past it has been used as a rallying point for troops and also as a court and place of execution.

An investigation took place on Saturday, 6th September, 2008, and we were blessed with a dry, fairly warm, windless night.
We booked in to the Inn in the afternoon to allow time for a good walk around and photographs.  Then following a lovely meal and after the pub had closed we began our investigations.

The main bar area

We didn't have to wait long near the fireplace, in the main bar area, before we were in touch with the spirit of a young boy.  As we began filming a glass divination session to gain some more information, we heard what sounded like a chair being scraped across the floor, yet we were all around the table.  Click on window below.

He seemed quite happy to answer our questions with the aid of the glass.  He was seven years of age and  apparently had six brothers and sisters.  His older brother was ten and all his sisters were younger.  He was employed as a chimney sweep and help contribute earnings towards buying food.  He was alive during the reign of George the second (1727-1760), but we could not ascertain the relevant years.  His name, we believe was Thomas Fitzroy.
During this period of questioning several things began happening.  Andrea had her trouser leg tugged, a very cold breeze swept across the table, the batteries drained in Julie's digital camera and Lila got a very sharp pain in her left armpit.  When we discovered the connection to being a chimney sweep, we wondered if perhaps he was trying to tell us that he had become wedged by his arms and hence the pain.  During this period David also swears he saw a light move across the floor, which looked like a torch beam, but nobody was using a torch.
It was at this point that we also caught some very unusually coloured orbs, olive green, as shown on photos below.

We also received the following light and sound reponses during the same period.
On the first excerpt you will see a light appearing on my left shoulder and disappearing towards the fireplace, (on the right of the screen).
The second one (widow), shows a strange light anomaly travelling from right to left diagonally across the screen.  We have slowed this down in order that you can follow it's progress and can see it disappearing into the table, where the infra-red is at it's brightest.  That's why we believe it's not a bug!
The third (window), is a strange sound heard by me, of what appears to be some kind of twittering noise.  We couldn't find the source of it, nor could we replicate it.

As Thomas continued to give us information about his family and the fact that his father was from Ireland, we were shown another light travelling from the table towards the fireplace.  Click link below.

Towards the end of our conversation with Thomas we were joined by the presence of a woman, although I'm not sure Thomas was aware of her.  She obliged by giving her name, which I thought was 'Annie', and she showed me a picture of gravestones, but nothing other than that.  However, she would be in touch again later in a different part of the building...
It is apt to mention something strange here that has some relevance to another investigation, The Old White Horse.  David found a five pence piece in his back pocket, somewhere he never keeps money!!
Below are some extra photos from that part of the building, and the report will be continued on Page2.
