Room One was our first visit after a short break.
We did not have to wait long before the woman from downstairs made her presence felt, and I must say she seemed very strong
in this room. It seems as though I had made a mistake with her name too, because as I began calling her 'Annie', she
kept saying no. Her name was in fact Fanny, as I discovered after a little questioning. At that stage she was
stood near the bed, see photo below.

As we were all seated I began to get very breathless. I
could only assume that was what had caused her passing, so began asking out for more information. Click on the link
below and see what happened. Take particular notice of the left hand side when the flash from the camera goes off.
It looks like the shape of a head is caught in the flash!

When we took a freeze frame from the DVD, the picture
below is what we found. A very impressive large orb, that could indeed be mistaken for someone's head! We are
not sure whether we would have recorded it without the flash, although we did get the light anomaly in the same area in the
clip above a few seconds later!
It was at this point that a strong breeze began blowing
across the front of us and she began giving some more information. Her second name was Price, and she was looking for
her husband Harry. It was then that both David and Andrea heard a woman whimpering.

All this time the woman was continually saying seventeen
forty-nine, and we were trying to establish what had happened in that year. It was then that she showed me a picture
of a horse, and a cart with a shallow back that had been trimmed with flowers. (Research has shown that Harry and Fanny Price
were redident in the pub during the mid-1700's).
We then seemed to have a flurry of activity, a light being shown in the same
place as the one above, and also a loud knock while I am describing how pretty the cart looked. Click on link and window

It is interesting to note at this point that there
is nobody upstairs, where the knocking at that stage seemed to be coming from.
We then asked if her and Harry had any children, the reponse is below.
We were then treated to a series of knocks, bangs
and lights, an example of which are shown below.
We ended by Andrew asking if we went to the cemetery would we find Harry, to
which we got two very loud bangs in reply!

We then made a very brief visit downstairs, in two
areas.
The first was a little alcove just outside the restaurant area. As filming
began we got a large light anomaly to the right of the screen, click link below. This was the presence of an ex-landlord
of the property, Thomas Chamberlain being the given name. he didn't seem very welcoming and gave the impression of being
quite a bully, who could not be reasoned with. Apart from him showing the 'Devil's Cup' being put on the doorstep, he
would not share any more information.

We next made a brief visit to the back bar.
I must admit, I am not ususally troubled at these events, but something happened there that quite upset me. As we attempted
to do a glass session, someone noticed that four of us were all sat with our hands oddly crossed on the table. When
we began, the glass moved in an odd configuration, which seemed to be heading into the shape of a pentagram. This spooked
Andrea who decided she did not wish to continue. At that point I also decide I did not wish to continue either.
Not because of what the glass was doing, but because I was not aware of any spirit activity at all in the room. If I
trusted the people that were doing the glass session with me, and I trusted them all implicitly, then obviously I was not
aware of the capabilities of the spirit presence, so I ended my participation there and then, and advised the others to do
the same. I had thought, thet I may have heard chanting at some point, but no one else did.

We ended our night with a brief visit to Room 2.
It started off fairly quiet, not receiving any reponses from anyone for the first ten miutes or so. The only thing that
really made an impression was the unearthly cold, that forced everyone into putting the hoods up on their hoodies. That
included people that are not normally troubled by cold conditions! Slowly, a lady of the church made herself known,
presenting in a form with habit made from what looked like a grey worsted material. Other than a light and sparkly
shown in the clips below, there was no other form of communication given.
Except, Julie had a very weird episode during the calling out. She was
staring at the ceiling and swore she saw a black shape descending on her, and to say she was freaked out would be an understatement.
We did try to replicate the experience, thinking it may be a trick of the light, but we were unsuccessful.

All in all it was a very impressive night at the Skirrid
Inn. The atmosphere was strong, but not oppressive and certainly had more activity than some other places we have attended.
In fact we were so impressed that we have already booked a return visit in 2009, so we have chance to cover areas that we
didn't get to do this time!
Many thanks to the landlord and staff who made the visit very relaxing and rewarding.
