At the far end of the house is a flight of stairs
leading to the furnished bedroom at the top. This seemed a very active area throughout the night, with the spirit of
a young girl being picked up by Andrea. If you click on the box below you will hear the conversation between the group
and the breath that is picked up on Paul's camera.
It was decided to do a glass session to see if any more
information could be gleaned about the young girl. It appeared that she had been a maid in the property during Victorian
times, and there was a very strong response on the glass to the name Emily. It appeared that she was willing to talk
to anyone, but shortly afterwards her energy faded.
Dave, Andrew and Paul returned later with a video camera to see if
they would have any luck. Click on link below to see the light they were rewarded with coming down the stairs.
Dave was also rewarded by asking out in the same area, by picking up
a female cry on camera, click on bax below.

Large Furnished Bedroom
The large furnished bedroom at the top of the stairs was
visited three times during the night. Our first visit, although having a promising start by a male informing me, 'This
is my house, madam', came to nothing when no further information could be coaxed. One did get the distinct impression
that a veil of secrecy was covering the house though.
The second group had a little more success using the glass, firstly
by being in contact with a male, who wouldn't give any more information and then a lady, who said her name was Maria.
It transpired that the male had been her brother Edward and that she had been struck down by an accident in her early thirties,
and was left with face and speech problems. Edward was not the spirit that had spoken to me earlier.
The third visit was requested by the men in the party to be a ladies
only vigil, although we were not informed for what reason until it was completed.
As we were setting up for a glass session we did get two lights on
video camera and indeed, this time there was some co-operation with the glass.

We gave alternative names for the male spirit and the glass
moved on the name Edward, but not when we asked if he had a sister Maria. It would seem we were talking to a different
Edward. There followed a very cold breeze and I had the feeling as though someone was trying to push me off the stool.
Julie and I began to get pain in our backs, and I suddenly got the impresion he didn't like me very much, although I was convinced
I hadn't done anything to upset him! We asked if he was resident in the building he answered yes, but when I began
asking if he was married the glass started moving very aggressively and there was an odd blurring on the camera. When
I asked if he'd had some problem with his wife the glass darted from side to side and eventually we were informed that he
had no children as his wife had not been receptive in the marital bed! From that moment on I was unable to put my finger
back on the glass. Every time I tried it moved in the other direction. When I asked if his wife preferred female
company the glass flew towards me and for a moment I thought it was going to leave the table. A part from the fact he'd
lived there in the 1800's we received no more information.
We were informed by those in the know that the Hall had been home to
a wife-beater, and females had had problems in that area before!

The upstairs corridor is home to another three inter-connected
bedrooms, the most active of these being the first one nearest the Great Hall. I have also included the corridor itself,
the doorway and landing leading to the Great Hall, as they somehow seemed to be connected.
The landing gave up some very strange audibles during the night, starting
early on when several people had heard a woman sobbing, a baby crying and a very loud breathing in Paul's ear, at the same
time causing a very strong breeze across his face.
The doorway through to the landing was covered by a big heavy duty
curtain, but several times during the night people had noticed how it was billowing backwards and forwards, most time on command.
Dave tested for draughts but there were none, and he couldn't explain the movement.
The doorway proved quite scary for one of our lady visitors who said
the minute she put her head through the doorway she was met by the face of a woman who appeared to be quite aggressive.
My visit to the first bedroom did bring forth a replay of a crying
woman who rose from doing needlework from a chair behind the door and walked straight to the window. She stood for a
few seconds looking out the window and then returned to the chair and resumed her needlework and crying. I asked who
she was looking for and she replied Richard. When I asked why she was crying, had she lost someone, she showed me the
picture of a little girl. The room certainly had an overwhelming sadness about it.
Our visitors said they detected an aggressive presence in here, but
I couldn't concur beacuse I didn't feel it. However, that is not to say that they were not picking up anger from some
other source!
Paul on his first visit said he had butterfies in his tummy and felt
as though he shouldn't be there, whilst Dave felt pressure on his Adams Apple, and did concede that it could have been the
same feeling as when somebody is about to cry. Again, there was a smell of dung that was smelt by more than one person
too. It should also be mentioned that the cold was unbelievable, as it had been in other areas of the house. The
whole of the upstairs corridor produced a plethora of unexplained noises that normally occured when the groups were doing
something else, as when Lila was doing a glass session in the small bedroom. See box below
The whole night had a weird but not bad feeling to it. We ceratinly
did not do the building justice on this first visit, and I certainly would have liked to have spent more time in all the areas.
That will take place on our next visit!
