We continue our in depth investigation of this property, and this investigation took place on Monday, March 23rd, 2009.
The Causeway Foot Inn is a 17th Century coaching inn, situated in the Ogden area of Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK.
The property consists of the original building, a later addition, now the Rambler's Room, to the south.  A cottage that was attached to the north side of the building is now the pub restaurant.
Terry, the landlord, had reported some recent activity, seeing a dark shadow in the Rambler's Room one night while locking up and also the fire in the same room, turning itself on.  It seemed a good place to start the investigation.

We began by holding a seance around a table.  We were aware straight away of a breeze crossing the table, and although there was no initial response to asking out for a name, eventually I was told, 'Tell him it's Jack'.  Although, nearly all the males present knew of a Jack, which isn't surprising, none could associate it with the only two other pieces of information given, which was the name of a place, Pentland Firth and the picture of a red van, which looked like a very old Post Office one.

We moved to the opposite corner of the room  to do a glass divination session.  As we began to settle and people were discussing what they were feeling, Andrea being touched and me having cobwebs on my face, a light was picked up on camera - see link below.

There was no reponse when we asked the feamle spirit if she was associated with the building so we asked her to move to whoever it was she was visiting.  The glass moved to Terry, twice.  Her name was Vera and her husband's name Percy.  Although Terry knew of two people with those names, not somebody from 20-30 years previously, when she supposedly passed away.  He was going to enquire with his mother who may have more information.
Then the atmosphere around the table changed.  It was obvious another spirit had moved in, and the glass began to move violently and erratically.  A male spirit this time made his presence felt straight away.  See link below.

As we discussing how strong the energy felt, I felt a hand press up against my back, while at the same time Lila had such an awful stabbing pain in her arm, she was reduced to tears.  We asked if this was the man Terry had seen recently and the glass moved in confimation.  We asked if he had also been stabbed through the arm.  Not only did the glass confirm this, but we also caught a light on camera at the same time.  See link below.

The Retsurant

We were highly delighted and much surprised at the activity in the next location, the reataurant.  The female spirit stayed with us for the whole hour and produced some wonderful lights and other phenomena.
It began immeadiately I began asking for some kind of communication.  A light appeared on screen, which Dave thought was originally a camera flare.  On further investigaton, there didn't seem anything that the infra-red could flare off, and secondly, the light comes towards the camera and then moves away from the camera at a different angle!  The clip is below.

Table-tipping, table bottom right

We decided a table tipping session would be in order and while we were setting up we noticed there were some noises coming from the EMF meter.  As I began asking for a response from the spirit by using the EMF meter, this happened.  See box below.

As you can see from the clip, the only movement I made was to point towards the EMF meter and when repeated there was no response at all.  What I will say is that when we tried to use the EMF later, the battery was completed flat and had to be replaced!
As we began the table tipping session I could have sworn I heard a woman's voice sayin 'Ooo', but dismissed it when nobody else heard it.  At the same time a light appeared around Terry.  See clip below.

Then I heard the same noise again and while I was trying to explain what I had heard we had another light!

Link 6

I was so pleased when we were reviewing the tapes that we came across the following EVP, picked up on both cameras.  It is obviously by the peoples lack of reaction that nobody had heard it, and everybody present was in the room.  We had light on camera too!

The response to the table tipping at first was quite sluggish and unpredictable.  In the meantime Emma complained of a cold spot appearing in the corner and moved to join the rest of the group. The lady gave her name as Sadie, (could be a derivitive of Sarah), and tipped the table in response.  The responses to other questions were very hit and miss, then Andrea suggested we change the way we were asking the questions.  She advised us to take a more light-hearted approach in our questioning, as she felt Sadie would respond better to this.  It certainly worked and Paul in particular enjoyed the banter with her.  The table began to tip, shake and rotate, but not it would seem in reponse to questioning.  Only because she could, and only after I'd taken my hands off!  When I did, we got this on camera.

I will add, at this point, that during this episode the lights on the K2 EMF meter were flashing intermittently.  However, we are going to disregard this as it has come to our attention that a mobile phone signal can cause the lights to flash, and we cannot be sure that everyone had theirs turned off.
We finished the evening in the bar area with a short table session. The spirit visiting was a very tetchy male who straight away began tilting the table.  His name was Sidney, and he had died in 1901 and was aged 54, yet refused to give us a second name, saying he wished it to remain private.  He did tell us that he was a married man and local to Halifax.

This location never fails to amaze us with the amount of spiritual traffic that passes through.  The lady in the restaurant we have come across before and she is a permanent resident, although not normally as forthcoming as she was on this occasion!
Again, our sincere thanks to Terry and Chris for their continuing support, and I, personally, cannot wait for the next one!
